Pokemon Sword and Shield has become a leaky ship, with the full evolution line of Scorbunny, Grookey, and Sobble perhaps being some of the biggest. Galarian Forms, new Pokemon, and much more have also leaked, now including new details concerning the legendaries. For example, Eternatus seemingly has two forms, as well as a Gigantamax form, but that's not entirely surprising. What is, though, is the typing of the mascot legendary, Zacian.

A recent leak showed the Pokedex entry of the legendary Pokemon Zacian, where it's confirmed that the legendary is a Fairy-type. Considering many were considering Fighting- and Steel-type as leads in previous speculation, this may come as a shock to some degree. That said, the entry also states that Zacian can absorb metal that it'll turn into a weapon, its sword, for battle. Because of this, it seems that the Wolf legendaries also have a couple of forms, where it could still take on a second type.

Although Zacian is the only one leaked so far, many believe this to also be true of Zamazenta, with it also adopting a second type with its mane/shield. Lore seems to suggest that Zacian and Zamazenta are somehow in battle with the 'evil' legendary Eternatus, and considering its design seems to suggest that is a Dark-type, the legendary wolf duo typing makes sense. Fairy is super effective against Dark, and Steel takes less damage from Dark-type moves.

Of course, there could be something missing that players are currently unaware of, but for now, it seems players should expect on catching a Fairy legendary in their game. Interestingly enough, this means that Pokemon Shield players should consider if they want to use their exclusive Pokemon. While players plan their party, it's not typically a good idea to have two of a single type, putting players who want to use the Pokemon Shield-exclusive Galarian Rapidash at a disadvantage if they want to use it.

Either way, more and more information will likely become available over the next few days leading to launch. Pokemon Sword and Shield players should keep an eye out for more to be revealed, especially if attempting to plan out a team.
