Pokemon Sword and Shield will finally be out next month, but there's still a lot we don't know about the new games. Luckily for fans, more information on Pokemon Sword and Shield seems to come out each day, and now we even know the the games' file size.
Thanks to Pokemon Sword and Shield download cards being sold in Japan, we know that the games will be 10.3GB. Those who have yet to upgrade their Nintendo Switch storage may be a little apprehensive about the Pokemon Sword and Shield file size, especially if they plan on getting both games, but otherwise the size shouldn't be too bad. Anyone concerned about storage should consider picking up the physical versions of Pokemon Sword and Shield.
Something else revealed by the Pokemon Sword and Shield download cards is the return of two Pokemon. It appears Gothita and Turtonator will be both be available in the games, though it's unclear if they will be exclusive to one game or the other. Not a lot of version-exclusive Pokemon have been revealed for Pokemon Sword and Shield so far, but we do know that the Farfetch'd evolution Sirfetch'd is exclusive to Sword, whereas Galarian Ponyta is exclusive to Shield.
When it comes to things that have yet to be revealed about Pokemon Sword and Shield, the biggest is easily the starter Pokemon evolutions. We still don't know anything official about the Pokemon Sword and Shield starter evolutions, and at this point, it's looking like Nintendo may keep them secret until the games launch.
While Nintendo hasn't revealed anything official about the Pokemon Sword and Shield starter evolutions, a leak has at least given us an idea what to expect from them. According to the leak, Sobble's evolution line will have a spy theme and evolve into a Pokemon named Intelleon, whereas Grookey will evolve into a giant gorilla with a drum. Scorbunny will reportedly be a pure fire-type, but will resemble a humanoid and be named Raboot.
The Pokemon Sword and Shield starter evolution leak included other leaks that have since been proven true by Nintendo, so it seems more likely than not that the starter evolutions are accurate as well. Perhaps the first official images of them will become available in some roundabout way similar to how we learn the Pokemon Sword and Shield file size.
