Pokemon Sword and Shield are here, and with these games come new evolutions of some older Pokemon along with a plethora of new Pokemon exclusive to the latest Galar region. Darumaka is one of the fan-favorite Pokemon from the 5th generation, and it received a whole new Galarian form in the latest games as well. Darumaka’s Galarian form is the complete opposite of its previous form, which was a Fire-type; however, in the new region, this Pokemon is an Ice-type Pokemon and evolves into an ice-cold Darmanitan as well.

Those who remember evolving their Darumaka in 5th Generation games would know that it used to evolve into a Darmanitan automatically once it hit level 38; however, in Pokemon Sword and Shield, the evolution isn’t as simple as the previous games. The Galarian Darumaka is exclusive to Pokemon Sword, while Galarian Ponyta is exclusive to Shield. So players with Pokemon Shield will have to get a Darumaka via trading from the other version. Luckily, players don’t have to worry about leveling up their Darumaka anymore since the level doesn’t matter at all, and the Pokemon can be evolved at any time using a specific item.

How To Evolve Galarian Darumaka Into Darmanitan

In order to evolve Darumaka into a Darmanitan, players need to find and use the Ice Stone. It’s an elemental stone similar to Fire Stone, Water Stone, etc. and can be found in the Wild Area on the map. Once players have an Ice Stone in their inventory, all they have to do is use the stone on their Darumaka, and it will evolve into a Darmanitan without any issues. The Ice Stone is not very common, so players will have to do a bit of searching before they can get their hands on the evolution rock. Here’s where to find the Ice Stone in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Where To Find Ice Stone In Pokemon Sword And Shield

First of all, players have to ensure that their bikes have the Water mode enabled. To get this feature enabled, players will have to beat the sixth gym and get that badge. After earning the badge, players will have to save the man that gifted them the bike in the first place, and once the old man is safe, he will make the upgrade to the bike as a reward.

After getting the bike upgraded, all players have to do is head over to the Lake of Outrage and cross over to the other side of the lake. This is where players will find a circular rock formation with multiple shiny areas on the ground, click the shiny areas to discover hidden items. The shiny areas contain both the Ice Stone and the Dawn Stone, so make sure to click all the areas to grab both these items.
