Last week, Nintendo officially revealed Pokemon Sword and Shield for the Nintendo Switch, pulling the curtain back on the games' three starter Pokemon in the process. While Nintendo has yet to reveal the starters' evolutions (or any other new Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield for that matter), some art has appeared online that may leak the evolutions for Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble.

The art was posted on 4chan, so it's quite possible that it's fake instead of actual concept art from Game Freak. However, if the art is fake, it's some of the most convincing fan art that we've seen to date. It perfectly matches the art style of other Pokemon creature designs, and the evolutions play to the UK-theme of the Galar region, with the Pokemon resembling knights and other kinds of medieval fighters.

Pokemon Sword and Shield fans can take a look at the supposedly leaked art and decide for themselves if it's fake or the genuine article.

Sobble's leaked evolutions:

Since these images were posted on 4chan and there is no way to verify their legitimacy, it's quite possible that they are just convincing fakes. However, it's worth pointing out that these images aren't the only Pokemon Sword and Shield leaks that have been posted on 4chan, and some of the past leaks have actually been verified by Nintendo since they were posted.

This includes the titles for the two games, as well as the Galar region's UK-based setting. Unconfirmed details in the same leak include Armored Evolutions and the legendaries being a large metal snake and wooden horse. The post containing this information also singled out the mythical Pokemon Meltan as having a significant role to play in the new games.

With Pokemon Sword and Shield set to launch for the Switch later this year, Pokemon fans can look forward to plenty of new information that should confirm or debunk the leaks. E3 2019 in particular should be a big information dump on Pokemon Sword and Shield, so perhaps the real starter evolutions will be revealed at the show, if not before then.

Pokemon Sword and Shield will launch later this year, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
