Besides confirming that the games exist, there is little Nintendo has said about the upcoming Pokemon games for the Nintendo Switch. However, with E3 2018 right around the corner, rumors are starting to swirl about the games, with some claiming that they will feature integration with Pokemon GO, and even have similar mechanics to the popular mobile game.

This rumor stems from an April 1 post on 4chan that has gotten more attention after a recent blog by industry insider Emily Rogers, who hinted that Pokemon for the Switch will learn from the success of Pokemon GO. The 4chan post claims that catching Pokemon in Pokemon for the Switch will be similar to how it works in Pokemon GO, which means players will likely be lobbing Pokeballs at wild Pokemon with the touchscreen. Speculation points to motion controls replacing the touchscreen when playing the game in docked mode.

The post goes on to say that there will be rewards in both Pokemon for the Switch and Pokemon GO by linking the two games together. Moreover, a new accessory will reportedly be made that will work with both Pokemon GO and Pokemon for Switch, perhaps something similar to Pokemon GO Plus.

Besides claiming that Pokemon for Switch will feature integration with Pokemon GO, the post also makes some other claims about the game. For one, it claims that the games will be called Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, and they will be remakes of Pokemon Yellow. The two versions will feature the characters Red and Blue as rivals, and players will once again have their Pokemon companion follow them around like in Pokemon Yellow.

The Pokeride feature from Pokemon Sun and Moon will also make a comeback, and the game will have a dedicated online hub as well. Of course, none of this information has been confirmed by Nintendo, Game Freak, or The Pokemon Company, so fans should take this all with a huge grain of salt.

If Emily Rogers is to be believed, Pokemon for Switch will be revealed this month, so hopefully Nintendo and Game Freak will address these rumors sooner rather than later.

Pokemon is in development for the Nintendo Switch.
