Rumors have been swirling about the Pokemon games for the Nintendo Switch, including one that claims the games will be revealed by the end of the month. As it turns out, that rumor may be accurate, as Japanese variety show Oha Suta says it will reveal "shocking" news about Pokemon on May 31, claiming it will be a time when "a new history is born."

This is according to Serebii.net, which reported on Oha Suta's promise. While it's possible that Oha Suta could be referring to something else entirely, the most likely scenario is that the show is where Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee for the Nintendo Switch will be properly revealed to the public. This would be in line with the rumors, plus the use of the word "shocking" could be a direct tease about Pikachu's name being in the title of one of the games.

Unfortunately, Oha Suta didn't share any additional details beyond this tease, so fans will just have to wait until May 31 to see exactly what kind of "shocking" Pokemon news the Japanese variety show has in store.

At the time of this writing, there's actually very little we know about Pokemon for the Switch in terms of concrete details, but there's plenty of rumors and speculation to sift through. For example, Nintendo has registered domain names for Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, which fits with previous rumors that those would be the titles of the new games. Rumors have also claimed that the games will be remakes of Pokemon Yellow, and will allow players to return to the Kanto region from Generation 1.

Generation 1 seems to be the main focus of Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, if the rumors are to be believed. Apparently players will even have 151 Pokemon to catch in the games, with those being the original 151 from gen 1.

Of course, it's possible there's no truth to these rumors. Ultimately, fans will just have to wait for May 31 to learn more about the Pokemon games for the Nintendo Switch.
