Except for the fact that it exists and has a release window of late 2018 or 2019, there is next to nothing that we know about Pokemon for the Nintendo Switch. However, a recent job posting by the Pokemon Company could offer a little more insight into how far along game is in development.

The Pokemon Company is hiring a Video Game Editor to edit video game text for two years. The VG Editor will edit game text, strategy guides, manuals, press releases, marketing materials, and more. This position is a two year fixed-term contract, and so if it is for Pokemon on the Switch as rumored, one has to imagine that means we will see the game hit store shelves within its previously announced release window.

Even though it seems as though Pokemon on the Switch is progressing through its development cycle at a decent pace, we have no idea when to expect more details on the upcoming game. The Pokemon Switch game was MIA at the last two Nintendo Direct events, and very little in the way of concrete details have been shared about the project.

While there haven't been many confirmed details about the game, there have been plenty of rumors floating around that may give fans a better idea of what to expect from Pokemon on the Switch. For example, one recent rumor has claimed that Pokemon on the Switch will be a complete reboot for the franchise, which could mean big things moving forward.

Other rumors have largely revolved around Pokemon on the Switch's starter Pokemon. Likely fake concept art of different starter Pokemon have appeared online, as usually happens in the lead-up to the release of a new Pokemon game. While these designs are all likely fake, they can still give fans something to ponder about while they wait for the actual starters to be unveiled.

Perhaps we will get our first glimpse at Pokemon Switch's starters come E3 in June, or maybe we will have to wait a little longer for more information. Whatever the case may be, this job listing does seem to suggest that the new Pokemon game is fairly late in the development process.

Pokemon for the Nintendo Switch is due for release in late 2018 or some point in 2019.
