Pokemon Sun & Moon Release First Mythical Pokemon

North American audiences currently have the chance to capitalize on the official release of Pokemon Sun and Moon's first mythical creature from the games.

It's no secret that Nintendo's Pokemon Sun and Moon have been a boon for the company, for not only has it set sales records in the UK to become the fastest selling game in the region since Wii Fit's release way back on December 1, 2007, but also the titles have caused a stir stateside with North American sales crossing 3.7 million units in two weeks. Now, fans of the series are set to receive the first legendary monster thus far for both of the games, as the developer is primed to provide the mythical steel- and fairy-type creature Magearna that makes its debut this generation.

As evidenced in a press release from The Pokemon Company, the mythical Magearna is an event-only Legendary Pokemon in the games. Interestingly enough, the creature is to be caught in a different way than any other Event Pokemon, with others possibly receiving the same treatment down the line in the Pokemon Sun and Moon titles.

In order to retrieve Magearna, fans must first complete the main story, then choose the QR Scanner function, line up the QR code for Magearna while pressing the R Button, and then visit the deliveryman at the Antiquities of the Ages shop in Hau'oli City to get the creature, and finally, save the game. Fans who have officially beaten the main game of Pokemon Sun and Moon can use the QR code directly below to claim their Magearna and add it to their Pokedexes.

Those afraid of not being able to beat Pokemon Sun and Moon on time in order to retrieve Magearna will be happy to discover that the QR code is available indefinitely with no expiration date. With this being the case, players who have yet to finish the games will still have a chance to get the mythical creature, so there's no need to rush when it comes to playing through the titles.

Magearna comes onto the scene in Pokemon Sun and Moon at Level 50, and she knows the Soul-Heart ability, which happens to raise her special attack every time a Pokemon faints. Plus, she also arrives holding a Bottle Cap which is used for Hyper Training to raise the stats of a Pokemon that has hit Level 100. Furthermore, she comes into the games knowing Fleur Cannon, Flash Cannon, Lucky Chant, and Helping Hand.
