Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon might soon be overshadowed by the pending release of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, but Nintendo hasn’t stopped supporting the former game’s community, especially in advance of one of the bigger Pokemon-related multimedia endeavors in recent memory. With Pokemon the Movie 20: I Choose You on the horizon, Nintendo has rolled out even more redeemable codes for the Pokemon Sun and Moon community, this time including the most iconic combination of Pokemon and head apparel in the entire series.

That’s right – Ash Hat Pikachu, previously made famous by a stint in Pokemon GO, has arrived on Nintendo 2DS and 3DS handhelds everywhere as of today. However, there are a few caveats. The Ash Hat Pikachu event in Pokemon Sun and Moon is a limited time promotion, and these stylish Electric-types aren’t available through regular means. Players will instead need to visit the official Pokemon website to redeem their code and add the Ash Hat Pikachu into their game.

With that being said, however, there are six variants of the Ash Hat Pikachu, and players will only be able to redeem a code for one of them per copy of Pokemon Sun and Moon that they own. Since it’s unlikely many fans have access to a full six copies, deciding when to redeem a code will be a big deal for many. Nintendo has helpfully outlined the six variants in a short YouTube video above, and each variant will be available for one week at a time leading into the release of Pokemon the Movie 20: I Choose You.

Enterprising Pokemon trainers will also want to check out select screenings of Pokemon the Movie 20, as Nintendo will also be offering an Ash Hat Pikachu trading card and an Ash Hat Pikachu QR code to unlock the Pokemon in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon when those games release in mid-November.

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon are available now on Nintendo 2DS and 3DS devices.
