Pokemon GO players are out hatching eggs during the equinox event, but 3DS gamers are still trying to catch 'em all too. With the new release of Pokemon Gold and Silver on the 3DS eShop, consumers are able to claim a free legendary pokemon to redeem in Pokemon Sun or Moon (or the upcoming Ultra versions of those two games).
Celebi is once again the legendary reward and, although this particular pokemon has been a prize in the past, it has never been a prize that was redeemable in Pokemon Sun and Moon. Shoppers who make the Gold or Silver purchase can add Celebi to their Pokedex by following these steps...
- Open the 3DS Eshop and select the Settings/Other option from the main menu.
- Select 'Account Activity' and view your receipt for Pokemon Gold or Silver.
- Your code can be found at the bottom of the receipt. Write that code down or take a picture of it.
- Open Pokemon Sun or Moon (or Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon if you are in the future).
- Select the 'Mystery Gift' option and enter the code from step three.
- Visit a Pokemon Center to pick your Celebi up from the deliveryman.
Once players go through this process, they'll have access to a level 30 Celebi equipped with a moveset that includes Heal Bell, Safeguard, Ancient Power, and Future Sight. The special offer runs from September 22, 2017 - September 21, 2018 so there is still a ton of time to earn your code. Shoppers must use their code no later than October 31, 2018.
