Snorlax is one of the most recognizable Pokemon in the Pokemon franchise, with the large creature used in a lot of the franchise's merchandise. Snorlax stands out in the original Pokemon games because of the unique situation in which players encounter it. Unlike other Pokemon, which are most often found hiding in tall grass, a sleeping Snorlax blocks players' path in the original games. Pokemon players have to use the Poke Flute item to wake Snorlax up, at which point they have the opportunity to either defeat it in battle or try to catch it to add to their roster.

Snorlax is generally depicted as a friendly Pokemon, but the sheer size of it would still make it terrifying to encounter in real life. Artist the.revival on TikTok recently showed what it would be like if one were to actually run into a Snorlax. For those unfamiliar with the.revival's work, they make impressively detailed Pokemon animations that go for a realistic aesthetic, and they do a good job of making one realize how terrifying the world of Pokemon would be if the creatures actually existed.

In this latest video by the.revival, a Pokemon trainer spots a Snorlax resting against a tree in a rainstorm. The Pokemon trainer has a basket of apples with them, and after learning more about Snorlax using their Pokedex, they carefully leave the basket at its side.

This stormy weather and dark forest give the video a foreboding atmosphere, even though nothing bad actually happens. Their other videos have a similar vibe, like the video of a Pokemon trainer's encounter with Onix at Victory Road, and the one where Gengar is terrorizing a Poke Mart.

The video where Gengar is haunting a Poke Mart gives Pokemon fans a look at various other items from the Pokemon universe in the.revival's realistic art style. It's cool to see, and hopefully the videos keep coming. There are plenty of Pokemon that the.revival has yet to make a video about, and so it will be interesting to see what else they are able to dream up.

In the meantime, the.revival may have some fresh inspiration soon as well. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are releasing later in 2022 for the Nintendo Switch, and they will be introducing some new Pokemon to the franchise. So far, only the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet starter Pokemon have been revealed when it comes to new Pokemon, but more reveals should come to light in the months ahead.
