Following the recent reveal of Wiglett for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, one gamer has created a picture that combines it with SpongeBob SquarePants. Wiglett is another new pocket monster coming with the Gen 9 Pokemon games, and it is categorized as a Garden Eel Pokemon. However, its design is apparently reminiscent of another creature seen in one episode of SpongeBob SquarePants.

With its first episode airing back in 1999, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants has been on television for a long time. Over the years, SpongeBob and his undersea pals have had many strange and hilarious adventures. That being said, one episode that many fans remember fondly is when SpongeBob and Sandy faced off against a giant worm, known as an Alaskan Bull Worm. Recently, one gamer decided to create a unique spin on one of the shots from the episode by incorporating Wiglett.

This unique crossover art was made by a Reddit user known as TheSnekKing, and it gave a new look to an iconic moment from the SpongeBob SquarePants show. In the image, SpongeBob was crouched behind a rock, looking up at what was supposed to be the Alaskan Bull Worm. However, the Reddit user had altered the image to replace it with a massive Wiglett from the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Humorously, the Pokemon took up more than half of the screen, staring blankly ahead.

The image edited by TheSnekKing was taken from a Season 2 episode of SpongeBob SquarePants called "Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm." In the episode, an Alaskan Bull Worm begins to terrorize the citizens of Bikini Bottom by eating everything in its path, including part of SpongeBob’s pineapple and Sandy’s tale. This forces Sandy and a reluctant SpongeBob to take down the creature in an attempt to save the town.

This edited picture featuring Wiglett from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in SpongeBob SquarePants has caught the attention of many gamers. Unsurprisingly, many fans have been making jokes about the edited image, with several quoting lines related to the classic episode. Since posting the clip a day ago, it has already gained more than 1.1K upvotes on Reddit.

It is worth mentioning that Wiglett has been the center of a number of memes and fan art since it was introduced several days ago. For example, one gamer recently created artwork that imagined what Wiglett would look like based on the design of the Elden Ring monsters called the Fingercreepers. With the launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet still more than a month away, it will be interesting to see what other fan art features Wiglett appears over the next few weeks.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release on November 18, 2022, for the Nintendo Switch.
