Some fans of the newly-released Pokemon Scarlet and Violet titles have discovered yet another odd glitch, with this one enabling players to pull off a powerful backwards long jump which can allow them to reach some otherwise out-of-reach areas earlier than intended. This is just one of the many bugs discovered in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet so far, with many players claiming that the new Generation 9 games are among the most unpolished in the franchise's history. It has no doubt been a busy year for Pokemon fans, with the popular Pokemon Legends: Arceus taking the gaming community by storm at the start, just shortly after the release of the Generation 4 remakes which came out in November 2021. The Pokemon Company wasn't finished there though, going on to surprise much of the fanbase with a reveal trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet a mere month after shipping Legends: Arceus. Hype for Generation 9 grew steadily throughout the year thanks to numerous trailers which revealed some of the new Pokemon, characters, and areas that fans could look forward to, though the disappointing state of the games at release suggests that Game Freak may have been too ambitious with their release schedule.RELATED: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Trick Helps Improve PerformanceWhile there has been a myriad of glitches from the new Pokemon games floating around social media since their launch a couple of days ago, this particular exploit seems to be pretty handy for a lot of players. A tweet from Centro Pokemon provides a clip demonstrating a player performing some reverse long jumps while riding Miraidon, allowing them to scale a steep vertical cliff face. Though Miraidon and Koraidon would normally slip while trying to climb something that steep, this glitch allows players to gain elevation quickly before even gaining the ability to climb in the game. This effectively means that players can use this Mario-like maneuver to reach some otherwise inaccessible areas earlier than intended.

So far, players have discovered a long list of bugs in Scarlet and Violet, including hilarious errors such as NPC characters randomly disappearing in front of players' eyes. In addition, more irritating issues such as players accidentally clipping through geometry and into out-of-bounds areas have been encountered.

Despite these games' many shortcomings, a lot of fans are fortunately still enjoying their time in the all-new Paldea region. The game has brought along many new features and adorable new Pokemon for fans to appreciate, but there's no ignoring the complaints surrounding these games either. Many players are claiming that the level of performance issues, crashes, and bugs is unprecedented in the Pokemon series. Paired with the highly criticized graphics, Scarlet and Violet are unfortunately shaping up to be the most disappointing Pokemon games to date in the eyes of many.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on Nintendo Switch.
