Pokemon Scarlet and Violet released with three main stories that the player can explore in any order, one of which requires them to locate and defeat five "Titan" Pokemon throughout the region. What many players do not know, however, is that there is a way to re-encounter and catch these Titan Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, though players only get one chance.

When encountering the five Titans of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – Klawf, Bombirdier, Orthworm, Great Tusk/Iron Treads, and Tatsugiri – the player must team up with Arven in order to defeat them. Upon doing so successfully, the creature will slink off and power up by consuming some Herba Mystica from a nearby cave, triggering a second phase of the boss fight. Upon being defeated in this phase, the Titan will shrink and vanish, providing the player with no option to catch them.

However, there is a way to re-encounter these same Titan Pokemon, as pointed out by Reddit user FuzzyyFox. If a player revisits the area where they first defeated a Titan at any point in the story, they will find several Pokemon of the same species nearby, and can easily figure out which is the former Titan. Though the Titans are no longer quite as big as they were when first encounted, they can be identified due to them not moving and also needing to be spoken to directly in order to trigger a battle as opposed to simply walking into them. When seeking to catch these former Titans, players should consider using a Pokemon such as Persian, which has access to moves such as False Swipe and Thunder Wave.

These former Titans have seemingly fixed natures, genders, are shiny locked, and possess a special mark as proof they were once a Titan. Of these former Titans, Klawf is a female with the gentle nature (though some say they have also encounted Klawf with the quiet nature), Orthworm is male and quirky, Bormbirdier female and jolly, Great Tusk/Iron Treads are genderless and naughty, and Tatsugiri is male and quiet. Some of these Pokemon, such as Bombirdier, also come with their Pokemon Scarlet and Violet hidden ability.

With there being so much to do within Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it is likely that many players are yet to revisit the locations of the former Titans when wanting to complete the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Pokedex. While the process is not overly complex by any means, players should remember to save their games before engaging a former Titan in battle because they don't respawn if they faint.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
