Within Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the vast majority of Pokemon found throughout Paldea have a single regular form and a distinct, shiny sprite. However, new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet addition Tatsugiri boasts several different forms in addition to three unique shiny sprites.

As if spotting shinies in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet wasn't difficult enough, new Paldean Pokemon Tatsugiri, which boasts a design seemingly inspired by several Sushi dishes, has three distinctly different forms, each of which having their own shiny variant. While identifying shiny Pokemon is typically easy due to their unorthodox color palette, Tatsugiri comes in so many different colors that players are struggling to discern regular Tatsugiri from the shiny variety without entering into battle with them.

However, user RoboAWM has posted a useful infographic to Reddit in an attempt to help players tell the difference between the different Tatsugiri forms, enabling them to realize if they happen to come across one of its distinct shiny designs in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. While players will still have to look closely at any orange hues of Tatsugiri, the infographic does a great job at confirming pink and yellow to be traditional colors of Tatsugiri and pure white to be a shiny form.

Also worth noting for those looking to catch a Tatsugiri is that each color of the Pokemon grants Dondozo a different stat boost when Dondozo uses Order Up to fire a Tatsugiri in double battles, meaning the pair could form a deadly core in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet VGC. Orange and red Tatsugiri grant Dondozo a defence boost, pink grant an attack raise, and yellow grant a speed increase. The shiny forms found adjacent to each of these colors on RoboAWM's diagram also grant this same stat boost when Dondozo uses Order Up.

Not only is Tatsugiri easy to overlook due to taking on such an array of different appearances, but it is also a particularly small Pokemon, so shiny hunters will have to keep their eyes peeled when searching for it in and around Casseroya Lake. It is also worth noting that, though the Titan Tatsugiri from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can be reencounted and caught after defeating it as part of the Path of Legends storyline, it cannot be shiny.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
