Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will let players put together their own sandwiches as well as go on picnics with their Pokemon. The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release date is right around the corner, with the games set to launch in a little over a month's time. Game Freak, Nintendo, and The Pokemon Company have been building hype for the games and keeping fans informed by releasing trailers on a regular basis.

The latest trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was a lengthy one that offered a deep-dive into various gameplay features that fans will be able to check out once the new games launch in November. The big takeaway from the trailer was that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will introduce a Girafarig evolution, but it also revealed a surprising new way that Pokemon trainers will be able to interact with their team.

As detailed in the latest Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer, the new games will let players go on picnics with their Pokemon. While out on these picnics, players can make custom sandwiches, picking the ingredients themselves. Different sandwich combinations offer different benefits for players. The example shown in the trailer shows players getting a boost when catching Fairy-type Pokemon, encountering Grass-type Pokemon, and battling in Ground-type raids.

There are other things to do in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet picnics besides making sandwiches. Players will also be able to use the opportunity to spend quality time with their Pokemon, cleaning them, playing with them, etc., not unlike the Camp mode from Pokemon Sword and Shield. But perhaps the most exciting thing about picnics in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is the fact that they give players the chance to collect Pokemon eggs.

Spotted near the picnic table in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer is a small basket. Once the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Pokemon trainer examines the basket, they are told that a Pokemon egg is inside. It's unclear if this will be the only way for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players to get Pokemon eggs in the new games or if the daycare feature returns, so fans will have to wait for more information on that front.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release date is coming up fast, and there's still a lot that has yet to be revealed about the new games. Leakers claim that there are over 100 new Pokemon coming in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but it seems fans will have to wait for launch to see them all.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launch November 18, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
