With new games, comes a new region for players to explore and hundreds of Pokemon to catch and train. The Paldea region has introduced an impressive 107 new Pokemon this time around. The first batch of these Pokemon to be revealed were the starters Fuecoco, Sprigatito, and Quaxly. Out of the three adorable monsters, the Water-type starter Quaxly has been the center of many memes due to his stylish appearance and quirkiness. Quaxly goes on to evolve into Quaquaval and gains an additional Fighting-type. With a base 120 attack stat, here are some of the best moves to consider having while using Quaquaval.

7 Acrobatics

Acrobatics

Quaquaval is Water/Fighting-type Pokemon, but since it is also based on a duck, it can learn a lot of Flying-type moves. One solid Flying-type move to consider is Acrobatics, which is a physical move with a base power of 55 and an accuracy of 100. Quauaval learns this move at level 43.

Though it may seem like a weak move, it actually doubles in power if its victim is not holding a berry. For competitive play that might be a rare occasion but for in-game battles, this move can land some powerful blows. It also covers Quaquavals Grass-type weakness, making it even more useful.

6 Mega Kick

Mega Kick

Mega Kick is a powerful Normal-type move with a base power of 120 and an accuracy of 75. This move does not have any added special effects but deals a lot of damage to most Pokemon. Since Quaquaval already has a great attack stat of 120, Mega Kick can be a very good move to have.

This move can deal damage to all Pokemon except for Ghost-types, meaning that there is a good chance of Quaquaval taking down opponents with a type advantage. However, the 75 accuracy and 5 PP do make it considerably unpredictable. Quaquaval learns Mega Kick at level 38.

5 Aqua Cutter

Aqua Cutter

For a physical attacker like Quaquaval, the move Aqua Cutter is a solid Water-type move to have in its movepool. Aqua Cutter is a physical move with a base power of 70 and an accuracy of 100. It also has 20 PP which makes it quite convenient.

Moreover, Aqua Cutter has an increased critical hit ratio making it even more reliable. This move was only recently introduced with the Generation 9 games and there are not many Pokemon that can learn it, giving it a unique touch. Quaxwell learns the move, Aqua Cutter, at level 21.

4 Liquidation

Liquidation

Liquidation is a relatively stronger Water-type physical move as compared to Aqua Cutter, with a base power of 85 and an accuracy of 100. However, this move only has 10 PP which could become a problem while taking on Raid battles and hunting for wild Pokemon, but from a competitive side of things, this move has a lot of potential.

This move targets a single Pokemon and has a 20% chance of lowering its victim's defense stat. Combined with Quaquaval's high attack stat, this move can be a menace. Quaquaval learns Liquidation at level 47.

3 Close Combat

Close Combat

If there is one move players should consider for taking advantage of Quaquaval's Fighting-type, it has to be Close Combat. This is a very strong move with a base power of 120 and an accuracy of 100, meaning it will always deal a heavy amount of damage to its victims.

The drawback of this move is that it lowers the user's defense and special defense stats, however with Quaquavals decent speed stat, it can prove to be quite useful. Quaquaval can easily wipe the floor with its slower opponents using Close Combat before they have a chance to retaliate. Quaquaval learns this move at level 58.

2 Aqua Step

Aqua Step

Aqua Step is a move introduced in Generation 9 and is the signature move of Quaquaval , which it learns upon evolving from Quaxwell. This is a physical Water-type move with a base power of 80 and an accuracy of 100. Aqua Step has an additional effect on its user, as it increases their speed stat every time that they use this move.

This means that Quaquaval can become faster as the battle continues to go on. With an increased speed stat Quaquaval can also make swift use of other moves like Close Combat, giving it the perfect opportunity to land the first hit. This move also has a decent attack animation.

1 Water Crash

Water Crash

Water Crash is the final and the strongest Water-type move that Quaquaval learns (upon reaching level 64). It is a physical move with a heavy base power of 120 and an accuracy of 100. This move deals a considerable amount of damage on its victims, but in return also inflicts damage on its user.

Although Water Crash is a self-damaging move that reduces the user's HP by 33% of the damage received by its target, it still does not make this move a dealbreaker as it remains the strongest move in Quaquaval's arsenal.
