A Pokemon Scarlet and Violet mod removes Ed Sheeran's song from the game. Players can now enjoy Pokemon Scarlet and Violet without music that isn’t atmospheric to the world of Pokemon within the context of its game through a mod.Despite player criticisms with the game, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are breaking franchise records, and mark the beginning of Pokemon’s 9th generation. As a result of this new generational leap, Nintendo has not only evolved the classic formula, which centers around an open world 3D environment, but has also implemented music from popular artists, such as Ed Sheeran. Fortunately, this experimentation with the game's atmospheric properties, such as its music, can now be toggled through a mod.RELATED: Sonic Frontiers Video Compares Graphics on PS5 and SwitchTwitter User Volya posted an image of the first mod for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that allows its players to remove the Ed Sheeran song in the game. The tweet pokes fun at the fact that the game's first mod is to implement an option to turn the song off. Since music is integral to the overall experience of playing Pokemon, it is not surprising that this mod was released immediately after the game's launch. Although some players like the song, it seems to be appreciated that this option exists. Players can only implement mods into their games if they mod their Switch, which according to the tweet’s comments is apparently a difficult thing to achieve, so for most players the song will remain in the game.

Since Nintendo is experimenting with the new generation, it is understandable that there will be road bumps along the way. Unfortunately as it stands, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are among the lowest rated Pokemon games ever, so hopefully Nintendo can address fans’ concerns in either an update to the current generation or future installments.

There are several other issues fans are experiencing with the launch of the new generation. Players are also reportedly unhappy with the graphics in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It seems that not only are 3rd party games falling behind on the Nintendo Switch, such as Sonic Frontiers when compared to other consoles, but also Nintendo’s own installments. Regardless, fans are excited to delve into the new game and explore the world of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is available now on Nintendo Switch.
