Pokemon fans playing the latest entry in the longrunning video game franchise, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, are sharing disappointment online regarding a missing feature. It may not seem like such a big deal to some players, but to others, it added more charm and character to each title in the Pokemon series. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet just launched a few days ago, and players all over have been diving into Generation 9 eagerly, but the game is not without its share of issues upon launch.

Recently one gamer discovered a glitch that leaves Legendary Pokemon behaving oddly. That isn't the only gripe players have with the newest Pokemon game. Multiple fans online have performance issues and are not too fond of the graphics and clunky gameplay. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, fans will explore the new area of Paldea. In true open-world fashion, gamers can progress through one of three paths available to them right from the start in any order. Adding new features and different ways to play the game has still left a lot to be desired for some players who are missing parts that were available in previous Pokemon games.

A Reddit user and Pokemon player, techgirl8, brought up an interesting gripe with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: the lack of the ability for gamers to explore buildings occupied by random NPCs. As stated by techgirl8, in some previous titles, players could enter these nondescript buildings and interact with minor characters who would sometimes give items, side quests, or even have hidden valuable things in their dwellings. This opened up a discussion with the Pokemon community, who overwhelmingly seemed to agree. Already players are coming up with clever ways to make Pokemon Scarlet and Violet more enjoyable, with one clever gamer creating a mod that removes Ed Sheeran's song from both versions. Safe to say the game's launch is not going so well so far.

Techgirl8's in their post also feels that the developers were "too lazy" to incorporate this into the game and that they have played every single Pokemon game since Pokemon Red and Blue versions. The gamer also stated they have never complained about a game until now. Another point of contention seems to be the change to outdoor Pokemon Centers or "Pokemon Kiosks" as they are now known. The only buildings players can enter are ones featuring welcome mats outside. Besides exploring the other buildings in various towns, it was the interactions with NPCs that Techgirl seemed to truly miss. Hilariously enough, fans also have an issue with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's sandwich-eating animation, among all the other notable glitches.

The lack of exploration in unimportant buildings isn't even the tip of the iceberg with how unfinished and unpolished the newest entry feels to many players. One gamer pointed out serious lag when switching between Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's menus and, of course, the noticeable frame drops. One thing is abundantly clear to all gamers currently engaged in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: it desperately needs some fixes soon.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is available for the Nintendo Switch.
