As is the case with most mainline Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be introducing a bunch of new Pokemon for gamers to catch and train when they release later this year. While many fans are excited about the new starters, Sprigatito, Quaxly, and Fuecoco, a number of other exciting additions are coming with the launch of these new games. One of these other anticipated Pokemon is Lechonk.

Introduced in a gameplay trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet several weeks ago, Lechonk is a Normal-type Pokemon that is part of Gen 9. As the name suggests, this pocket monster has a roly-poly body and resembles a pig. Like many other new Pokemon revealed for the upcoming games, Lechonk has become quite popular with gamers. Some have even made fan art featuring the plump Pokemon, such as one fan who made artwork that showed off their crotchet skills in the process.

Recently, a Reddit user known as kaiyamaika shared a picture of a crotchet project they recently finished based on the Pokemon series. With the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet coming later this year, the artist chose to make a crotchet version of Lechonk. In the image, the Normal-type Pokemon was situated on a desk. In addition, a keyboard was seen in the background, helping reveal the impressive size of the crochet creation. Some highlights of the design that the artist captured included the portly physique of the pocket monster along with its pink snout and yellow coloration underneath its eyes.

In the comments of the Reddit post, many gamers had the same enthusiasm that kaiyamaika had for the new pig Pokemon coming in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Since sharing the image of Lechonk a few hours ago, several thousand fans have already upvoted the post. One user simply wrote, “You have done us all a great service this day.” In addition, one gamer was so impressed with the design that they said it looked like it came from a professional shop. According to the artist, they used black wool purchased from Walmart to make the crotchet Pokemon.

As mentioned above, this is just one of many pieces of fan art gamers have made based on Lechonk over the last couple of weeks. In addition to this crotchet version of the pig made by kaiyamaika, another gamer recently made an impressive stop-motion animation starring Lechonk as it searched for berries next to several shrubs. Over the next couple of months, it seems inevitable that even more artwork featuring this portly pig along with other creatures from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be shared with the Pokemon community.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release on November 18 for the Nintendo Switch.
