While Game Freak, The Pokemon Company, and every company involved have remained tightlipped on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the floodgates of rumors and leaks have opened up. Of course, all unofficial information should be taken with a grain of salt, but many have indeed turned to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks in the absence of legitimate information.

A ton of Pokemon, story details, and more have leaked online, though some have proven false this time. However, one consistently reliable voice in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet community has been Riddler Khu, who has gotten tons of information right in the past, and to a lesser extent, the come-and-go Kaka. The latest leak regarding the legendary quartet comes from these two figures, meaning they have a little more weight than some "leaks" out there.

For those unfamiliar with the term legendary quartet, it just means the four other non-Mascot legendary fans will encounter, who are all connected somehow. Oftentimes, these legendary Pokemon appear as a trio like Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres or Entei, Raikou, and Suicune, but a quartet is not unheard of either. Well, according to Kaka, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's non-mascot legendaries are not Dragon-type or Fairy-type, two incredibly powerful and popular types. Instead, according to a recent tweet by Riddler Khu, it seems they will all share a Dark type. Specifically, it seems they will be Dark/Fire, Dark/Ground, Dark/Ice, and Dark/Grass.

Interestingly enough, it seems these four legendaries are meant to be opposite of the Forces of Nature. Pokemon Legends: Arceus expanded that trio into a quartet with Enamorous, and their Therian formes are based on the Four Benevolent Animals in Chinese mythology. It seems this new quartet is based on the Four Perils, their opposites. Because of their nature, some even think that instead of an evil third legendary like Eternatus, these Pokemon will somehow play an antagonistic role in the game. It's an interesting concept that could draw in new time-traveling elements that connect Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Of course, this is all just rumor, leak, and speculation by the community thereof. None of it is official, so until Game Freak shows its hands, fans should take this Pokemon Scarlet and Violet news with a grain of salt.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release on November 18 for Nintendo Switch.
