Fans are eagerly awaiting more information on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, with many reasoning that Game Freak and Nintendo would show something sometime soon—perhaps by the end of the month. In the meantime, fans have kept busy with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet rumors, speculation, fan art, and more. Some of the leaks that appear online, if from a reliable source like Riddler Khu, seem rather legit, while many, many more are quite dubious.

For example, while Riddler Khu has hinted at the final form of Fuecoco’s evolution, the outright “leak” of Sprigatito’s final evolution has been confirmed as fake. It ended up being a modded Obstagoon, and the source is always the first thing someone should check. If it’s from Khu or a known insider, there’s a decent chance it’s legit; if it’s just spreading on social media with no real source, it should be taken with a huge grain of salt, such as the evolution of Pawmi now circulating online.

Pawmi is one of the three new, non-starter/legendary Pokemon revealed for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet so far, and it’s a little red and yellow Electric mouse. Many have pinpointed it as the next Pikachu clone, which is fair enough, but now images of its supposed evolution have spread online. It seems, according to this image, that Pawmi will become bipedal, grow a little chunkier, and its hair on top will spread. It’s not certain if this image should depict the last form for Pawmi or a middle form, and it should be noted that there’s a good chance it’s fake. Click HERE to see it.

First off, Pikachu clones don’t typically get evolutions. Plusle, Miniun, Mimikyu, and many more all prove this point. Secondly, while many reactions praised it for sticking to the art style of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, many noted how it doesn’t seem like a Pokemon evolution, issues with the technical design, and other reasons to conclude that it’s fake. Indeed, the best thing to do with new Pokemon like Pawmi's supposed evolution is to assume anything as direct as this is fake.

It's not that Pokemon leaks are impossible to happen; it’s that the Big N is going to shut them down quickly. Chances are, if this Pawmi evolution for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was real, images would already be taken down across the internet. Still, it’s nice to see where the community’s mind is when it comes to new generation Pokemon.
