Gen 9 Pokemon games are coming in three months in the form of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which will officially conclude the Pokemon Sword and Shield era soon after the end of the World Championship in London. Although The Pokemon Company didn't reveal many upcoming pocket monsters in the three official trailers for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, multiple alleged leaks and rumors rapidly came up online, often discussing the exclusive critters from Gen 9. An example comes from recent leaks about an Electric dual-type frog Pokemon, and another from the various Paradox Pokemon that Gen 9 will allegedly include.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's exact Pokemon numbers also leaked online, and Gen 9 is likely to feature a total of 105 new monsters, excluding forms like regional variants – which will seemingly be four, increasing the count to 109 species. One of the most trustworthy Pokemon leakers is called Riddler Khu, as they provided consistently correct information about Pokemon Legends: Arceus way before the game was actually released in January of this year. Today, Riddler Khu shared yet another leak, and this time it's about a Bug-type Pokemon.

Khu already stated through riddles that Gen 9 would feature three new Bug Pokemon evolution lines, but not much was known about them until today when the leaker revealed that one of them will come with an unused Pokemon type combination. According to the leaker, this Bug Pokemon is quite similar to the characters from Kamen Rider, a popular live-action Japanese TV show that debuted in the '70s. The characters wear insect-like armor, and it's possible that one pocket monster from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will share that particular look.

Because Khu stated that this Bug-type will have a new type combination that was never used in the mainline series, it could be one of three: Bug/Normal, Bug/Dragon, and Bug/Dark. Because of the alleged Kamen Rider inspiration, the most likely candidate seems to be Bug/Dark, a long-time requested type combination that many wished to see on night crawlers, such as Ariados, from past Pokemon games. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet won't break a stale Dragon-type tradition according to the leaks, but that could change if this new Pokemon were a Bug/Dragon hybrid.

Still, it's worth noting that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet news is coming with the World Championship, as a fourth trailer has been confirmed for Sunday at the closing ceremony of the event. It's possible that the new Bug-type Pokemon will make an appearance, but it's more likely that the trailer will focus on the so-called regional fakes and Paradox Pokemon.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release on November 18 on Nintendo Switch.
