Pokemon Scarlet & Violet has only recently been released, but it's already the talk of the town. There are apparent new mechanics that have been hugely promoted such as terastallizing and there are other added features that have been more on the down-low.
This guide will talk about one of the features that might have gone under the radar for many players due to the hype around more significant gameplay changes in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Here players can read about everything they need to know about Auto Heal, a helpful automatic way to quickly heal one's Pokemon.
Using Auto Heal
Right at the start of the game - after the first Pokemon battle, right before gaining access to wild Pokemon - players will be notified that they can use auto heal, a new option that saves players time when it comes to healing their party after a battle.
To Auto Heal, players have to open their party in the main menu by pressing X, then hover over the Pokemon that's been hurt and press (-). Auto Heal will only restore the health of the Pokemon that's been selected; it won't automatically heal all other hurt Pokemon; this way, if there's a Pokemon the player might not want to heal at the moment, resources won't be wasted.
Item Order
Auto Heal will prioritize items in a specific. It analyzes the items in the player's bag and picks what to use first. Here is the item order from first to last:
Item |
How much HP it restores |
Purchasing cost |
---|---|---|
Potion |
20 |
200 |
Fresh Water |
30 |
200 |
Soda Pop |
50 |
300 |
Super Potion |
60 |
700 |
Lemonade |
70 |
350 |
Moomoo Milk |
100 |
500 |
Hyper Potion |
120 |
1,500 |
It's up to the player to decide whether Auto Heal is worth using or not. It only uses specific items to heal Pokemon, and it might not always be the most cost-effective item in a certain situation, but it does save a lot of time since it's so effortless to press a simple button.
Using a regular Potion on a low-level Pokemon is the best move here, so it's all good there. However, if it's a Pokemon with a lot of health, it'll most likely need a few healing items before it gets to full HP, and in this situation, using a Lemonade or two would be preferable in terms of saving money.
