With Pokemon Scarlet and Violet having just released, some fans are discovering bizarre glitches like one that transforms the trainer into a giant monster. Pokemon Sword and Shield and Pokemon Legends: Arceus both released with their fair share of bugs, but this Pokemon Scarlet and Violet issue makes its trainer unrecognizable from the one players start the games with.

Reddit user BahamasGreatCrossing is among a few early Pokemon Scarlet and Violet encountering glitches, with their clip focusing on one associated with mounting the Legendary Pokemon in multiplayer. Although Pokemon games have been known for their multiplayer since Gen 1, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is the first major attempt at allowing multiple Pokemon trainers to explore the open region of Paldea together. Pokemon Sword and Shield featured an open zone where players could group up with friends called the Wild Area which had its own perks separate from the main story, but Pokemon Scarlet and Violet offer more freedom which may be part of what causes the aforementioned bug.

BahamasGreatCrossing's clip begins with the player standing next to another near a Crocalor which is the first evolution of the Fire-type starter Pokemon, Fuecoco. The primary Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player mounts their Koraidon twice in rapid succession, after which their partner moves from one side of them to the other. Standing on the opposite side of the initial player from the beginning of the video, the second player faces the other and calls upon their Miraidon which causes the bizarre giant monster trainer glitch as it spawns larger than it should and causes the trainer to grow drastically as well.

Towering over the other player, the glitched Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainer turns to face the camera which shows not only the towering frame that dwarfs the other player but also a disfigured face. The giant trainer then dismounts and summons their enlarged Miraidon again which shows that they can also temporarily move around the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet region as this monster. Because the clips of this glitch end before Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can explore the region as the much taller trainer, it's currently unclear how far they can traverse before returning to the original form or encountering game-breaking issues.

While many Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans expressed their entertainment from BahamasGreatCrossing's clip, another suggested that it isn't a bug but rather the trainer learning how to Dynamax like in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Though some players are lamenting how disturbing this glitch is and would like it removed from the game alongside other Pokemon Scarlet and Violet issues, a few have implored Game Freak to keep the giant trainer in it.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
