Halloween is almost here, and it seems The Pokemon Company and Game Freak decided to celebrate this year by revealing new creatures for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. On October 24, a new video cropped up on the official YouTube channel, simply titled ????, and showed off a Gengar. Many were no doubt excited by this new Ghost Pokemon reveal for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

It didn't take long for fans to speculate that it could be the rumored Ghost Dog Pokemon coming in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, though fans don't have to wait anymore. The new trailer is out, and fans were easily awarded for their patience.

The trailer begins with a student of Naranja Academy searching the woods for Ghost-Pokemon for their club, implying this Pokemon may be exclusive to Scarlet as there is a leaked Dark-type dog Pokemon too. They come across a Mimikyu and Gengar before finding a candle popping out of the ground. Upon investigating it, the Ghost-type Dog Pokemon pops out, which has a simple yet interesting design. Its eyes are covered by its long hair, seemingly based on a Bearded Collie, and a candle rests on top of its head. The student plays fetch with the Pokemon before they pass out, and the trailer ends with the dog Pokemon licking at the student's face.

Previous rumors online suggested it was called Greavard, with the official website updating shortly thereafter. It's obviously uncertain what it evolves into at this point, but it seems the reaction to it so far is positive. It wouldn't be surprising to see it gracing a few teams.

Of course, there are still plenty of Pokemon yet to be revealed for Scarlet and Violet. A recent leak indicated there would be 400 Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet, with 103 of those being new and 297 of them being returning Pokemon. This means not only is there a huge list of Pokemon coming back that fans have yet to see, but it also means that The Pokemon Company and Game Freak have barely scratched the surface of new Pokemon for Paldea. The games are only a few weeks from release at this point, so hopefully, the marketing begins to pick up. Or, perhaps players will be going into this new region with far less detail than in past games, though that obviously remains to be seen.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release November 18, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
