The reveal of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has left fans around the world desperate to learn more about the new region and the array of new Pokemon that are sure to come with it. Currently, the announcement trailer and associated marketing materials have focused attention on the new starter trio: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Now, one Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fan has created a set of possible designs for these starters' final evolutions.

Many theories about the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet starter trio are circulating around the internet at the moment. Most of these theories concern what the trio could look like in their final evolutions, as starter Pokemon typically come in three stages. Past starter Pokemon have ended up both quite similar to their first evolutions and completely unrecognizable, depending on the individual Pokemon species in question.

Redditor PaleAd6109 recently shared three designs for the final evolutions of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet starters. The post is labeled "Revised Starter EVO ideas," suggesting that this isn't the first time the artist has tried their hand at envisioning the futures of Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Each design borrows the existing color scheme of the starters' first evolutions but adds a more detailed and dramatic flair inspired by very specific imagery.

PaleAd6109 stated that this was their second post about final evolution predictions--after reading comments hoping Sprigatito did not become bipedal, they decided to create some more quadrupedal designs. Sprigatito's final evolution is a light green wildcat with wispy ears, teardrop-shaped black spots, and a dark cloak of fur spreading over its back. Fuecoco's is a large red and white crocodile with pepper-inspired protrusions on its face, limbs, and tail. Finally, Quaxly's is a swashbuckling seabird that looks more like an albatross than a duck, complete with feathery facial hair and a pirate hat.

According to PaleAd6109, Sprigatito's final evolution is Grass/Ghost-type and inspired by the critically endangered Iberian lynx. Fuecoco's final evolution is Fire/Steel-type and was based on a mixture of peppers and real-life crocodiles. Apparently, the artist was particularly inspired by the body armor these reptiles come equipped with, although this design bears a closer resemblance to a LEGO creation than a real crocodile. Quaxly's final evolution was inspired simply by the theme of pirates, though the design's blue feathery tabard looks like something a knight would wear. Each of these designs captures the essence of the original Pokemon while bringing something new and interesting to the table.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are scheduled for release in late 2022 on Nintendo Switch.
