The photo depicts Terapagos next to the entire region of Paldea, highlighting the similar shape between the two. The island of Paldea looks eerily similar to the Pokemon, including the Area Zero base, located in the center of the map, which has the same shape as the middle of Terapagos' shell. Following the DLC announcement, many theories were created on the unique design of Terapagos, and what it could mean to the lore of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Terapagos, the game mascot of Indigo Disk, is a reptilian-like Pokemon, with a shell made of 18 crystal pentagon sections decorated to each type icon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The hexagon section located directly in the center of the shell not only resembles the Area Zero base, but is also white, potentially linking the legendary Pokemon to the Terastal phenomenon introduced in this generation. Little is known of the legendary Pokemon as of this writing, but some have theorized on what typing Terapagos will hold, hinting at a potential Psychic typing due to its cosmic appearance or a potential Water typing to reflect its turtle-like appearance.

While it's unlikely that the Pokemon itself will be the size of the island, or be the island itself, its similar physical representation could indicate a strong importance to the lore of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The two new legendary Pokemon will hold an important role in the new DLC, and the title — The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero — could highlight something big to come for both Pokemon and the entire region of Paldea. As the excitement builds, fans of the Pokemon franchise continue come up with new and interesting ideas, right down to what certain colors could mean in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now on Nintendo Switch.
