Pokemon Scarlet and Violet sends its players on an epic adventure to freely explore the region of Paldea. Besides the typing of Pokemon that makes them better in certain battles, the appearance of these creatures that come in all shapes and sizes can be just as important to a player.

As usual, there have been some new additions to the universe. Paldea has species that cannot be found anywhere else in the regions. Some of them may look questionable, while others have gamers gasping at their adorable designs. These little critters are by far the cutest of both Scarlet and Violet.

10 Gimmighoul

Some players may point out that this tiny coin Pokemon replicates the look of the Reddit avatar, with its gray body and bright yellow eyes. The first is its chest form, where Gimmighoul hides inside a chest of coins, bathing in its gold. The second and arguably cuter version is its roaming form. This is where players can really see how tiny of a critter it is, as Gimmighoul explores on its two tiny feet with a single gold coin on its back.

9 Smoliv

As its name suggests, Smoliv's design was created to resemble an olive, the fruit that some players enjoy on their pizzas while others do not. However, Smoliv is so cute that surely no player would threaten to cook it.

Smoliv itself appears quite nervous, with a permanently jagged mouth that displays a look of fear as it wobbles around on its tiny two legs. Like a squid, Smoliv will squirt oil at a predator when startled before running away.

Moving away from what classes typically as being cute, the tiny armored Fire-type Charcadet also deserves a mention. With a design that may remind many of Marvin the Martian from the Looney Tunes, this tiny knight deserves the love of a trainer.

Matching its adorable design is an adorable personality similar to Smoliv. When startled, Lechonk will commonly charge forward at its foes in a panic, similar to the mentality of actual hogs in the real world.

4 Fuecoco

Returning to the starter Pokemon, Fuecoco is a crocodile-like creature that seemingly has nothing going on behind its empty black void-like eyes. Yet, players love it all the same. As the Fire-type starting option, this red Pokemon is seen early in the game accidentally burning an orange when it sneezes, which may have persuaded many fans.

Fuecoco is very laid back, shown to snooze commonly compared to the energetic nature of many other starter Pokemon in the franchise. However, when met with food, this Pokemon with the stubbiest of limbs will rush towards the smell of treats.

3 Greavard

However, Greavard does achieve its spookier appearance when evolving, which may cause many players to force this dog to hold an Everstone. This way, it can keep its youthful fluffy fur and adorable lit candle on its head, instead of becoming wrinkly.

2 Sprigatito

Cat people of Pokemon need to hunt no further when selecting their starter in Scarlet and Violet. Sprigaito is the Grass-type starter for this generation of the franchise. This adorable green-furred cat acts exactly like a feline, with a nature touch to everything it does.
