Charcadet is classified as a Fire Child Pokemon in the Paldea region, and its name makes complete sense once anyone realizes just how tiny it is. Charcadet is only two feet tall, but it can gain some height (and power) by evolving into either Ceruledge or Armarouge; the Pokemon Charcadet evolves into depends on whether gamers are playing Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet.

How to Get Charcadet

As mentioned above, Charcadet can evolve into one of two Pokemon, depending on the version that players own. Pokemon Scarlet players will have access to Armarouge, a Fire and Psychic-type Pokemon, and Violet players can evolve their Charcadet into Ceruledge, a Fire/Ghost-type Pokemon.

Charcadet is a very common Pokemon in the Paldea region and can be caught at these locations:

How to Evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge or Armarouge

Evolving Charcadet is different from evolving other Pokemon, as it won't evolve by just leveling up. Players will need to find an item called Auspicious/Malicious Armor and give it to Charcadet in order for it to get to its next form.

How to Get Auspicious or Malicious Armor

To get one of the two Armor sets, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players should travel to a town called Zapapico. There will be two Pokemon Centers to travel to located in the town, and players should fly to the East one.

If players have yet to find Zapapico, it's northeast of the academy and just west of Levincia, the home to the Gym Leader named Iono.

Upon arriving at the fast-travel Pokemon Center spot, head west into the town to find an NPC standing near a small water fountain. They'll have an orange speech bubble over their head, and it'll say, "Fancy a trade?"

To get the armor from this NPC, Pokemon Violet players will need to get their hands on ten Sinistea Chips. And for Pokemon Scarlet players, they need to get ten Bronzor Fragments. Both of these items can easily be obtained by defeating/catching wild Bronzor and Sinistea out in the field.

Once the items are found, head back to the NPC at Zapapico and hand over the Chips/Fragments. To give the item to Charcadet to evolve it, go into the Other Items section of the Bag and choose the Armor item. Press 'Use this Item' and select Charcadet in the party.

For players looking for the locations of Bronzor and/or Sinistea, here's where they tend to hang out at:

  • Bronzor Locations (East Province Area 2, South Province Area 2, South Province Area 3, South Province Area 4, South Province Area 5, West Province Area 1, West Province Area 2)
  • Sinistea Locations (East Province Area 3, South Province Area 6)

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are available for the Nintendo Switch.
