Pokemon Scarlet features the ancient Legendary Pokemon known as Koraidon, which players are given right at the beginning of the game. However, it seemed a little lackluster to be given the box cover Pokemon right out of the gate.

Players will be happy to know that their wish of encountering and capturing Koraidon the proper way will come true in the post-game. This guide will help Pokemon Scarlet players find and capture Koraidon.

How To Find Koraidon

First and foremost, this second Koraidon can only be caught after defeating the story's final boss. After the credits roll and players return to Naranja Academy, they can travel back to Area Zero and explore it freely. From there, head they to the bottom level where they ventured inside the Area Zero lab where the final boss was fought. However, players should make their way behind the lab instead of running inside it.

From there, they'll be able to see a giant stone path that leads upward, where the second Koraidon will be waiting for them at the top. Here's an example of what it looks like:

Players should make their game before fighting Koraidon, as this will be their only opportunity to capture a second one and use it for a potential trade. Now that Koraidon has been located, it's time to discuss how to fight and capture it.

How To Capture Koraidon

Pokemon Scarlet Violet-Koraidon-Battle-Second Time

This time, players can now have a proper against Koraidon, as when they fought it the first time against the final boss, it was more of a stage to get the player's own Koraidon back in action. The second Koraidon is still up and about, now level 72, two higher than before. Koraidon is a Dragon and Fighting-type Pokemon with lots of offensive power.

It's very weak to Dragon, Ice, Fairy, Flying, and Psychic-type moves. Players should be careful when using these moves though, as the goal is to weaken it enough to capture. Although, players can go the easy way out and use their newly acquired Master Ball to capture it with ease.

But for those not wanting to rely on the Master Ball, there are a few ways they can capture it efficiently with little trouble. First, the best Pokemon to use against Koraidon would be virtually any Fairy-type, as Fairies are immune to Dragon-types and highly resist Fighting-type attacks. This essentially provides a massive wall that Koraidon cannot break under most circumstances.

Second, stock up on Ultra Balls and Repeat Balls. Since the player already owns the original Koraidon given to them back at the beginning of the game, Repeat Balls will work just as effectively as Ultra Balls would. Finally, try and paralyze or make Koraidon sleep when attempting to capture it, as the chances of capture increase when a Pokemon is under a status effect. Use these methods, and players should have no problems when officially capturing their second Koraidon.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available for the Nintendo Switch.
