A particularly dedicated Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player is quickly gaining attention from the online Pokemon community from showing off their impressive collection of shiny Eevees. Shinies tend to be thought of by most as the ultimate prize in the Pokemon franchise, but most are only lucky (or dedicated) enough to find a few of them during their journey of any specific game. However, this fan has clearly gone above and beyond; collecting not just one or two shiny Eevees, but nearly a dozen.

Shinies, as most fans of Pokemon will know, is a specific Pokemon with different coloration compared to what it normally is for its species. As has been the rate since the sixth generation, shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have a 1 in 4,096 chance of appearing. However, thanks to several newly introduced items, a handy fan-made graphic illustrates how Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can increase shiny catch rates.

The impressive collection of shiny Eevees comes from Reddit user zQubexx, who posted their assemblage to one of the site's main Pokemon Scarlet and Violet forums. In a series of images, zQubexx first shows off their first shiny female Eevee, something that apparently took nearly half a day according to the post's title of "After 11h, finally a female one." The statement is quite the warranted one, as Eevee's gender ratio in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is 87.5% male and only 12.5% female. Amazingly, the shiny Eevee is just one of an awe-inspiring 11.

Finding any shiny Eevee is quite a feat, and even moreso when it comes for catching one that is female. While others may think this player either has a lot of time on their hands or is just plain lucky, it pales in comparison to another player's luck. While gliding around on Miraidon, a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player fell out of the sky onto a shiny Eevee. While intentionally hunting for shinies is a rarely fruitful endeavor as it is, the chances of randomly landing right on top of one has to be some sort of astronomically low.

Speaking of astronomically rare shiny encounters, another Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player recently had an experience that virtually no other Pokemon players ever will. The encounter in question is of a player using a 3-segment shiny Dudunsparce encountering a shiny Ditto. Dudunsparce has a 1 in 100 chance of being three segments, and - combined with the shiny rate - leaves the likelihood at 1 in 400,000. Combine that with the chances of finding a shiny Ditto, and the scenario is something unlikely to be recreated any time soon.

While it may be out of some players' abilities to amass such quantities of shinies, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can try the Masuda Method, or utilize things like sandwiches and the Shiny Charm to boost their chances.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for the Nintendo Switch.
