Another player of the recently released Pokemon title, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, shares the horrifying glitch they encountered while trying to take a selfie with their character in-game. Adding to the list of growing bugs in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, this particular issue turns the use of the game's camera feature into something out of a horror movie.
Every Pokemon fan likely anticipates the arrival of a new video game in the series. Much like Sun and Shield, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduces a new generation of pocket creatures, a unique area to explore, and fun characters to meet or challenge for the Pokemon championship. However, since its launch, the game's community has been filling online forums with reports of various bugs and issues. Some of them can be game-breaking, while others, like this camera feature glitch, are quite entertaining for the rest of the community to see.
On Reddit, user GildedCypress shared the selfie they took with the game's photo mode, one of the features in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. In the posted image, their character's face can be seen massively blown up in front of what seems like a viewing deck in the background. The background elements like the deck railing lined up perfectly with the character's mouth to look like teeth, and the camera seemed to have zoomed in so much that it glitched out the characters face. The combination of these effects made the whole photo gives off vibes of a scary scene from a horror film.
The replies on the Reddit thread showed both amusement and horror from fellow fans of the title. One even commented that they hoped the glitch was an actual feature in the video game, and that fellow players should imagine what it would be like to see such a photo when battling against another player in a competitive Pokemon Scarlet and Violet match. Other comments mainly alluded to pop culture references or how GildedCypress's character looked high.
Nevertheless, the horrifying glitch that GildedCypress encountered in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can probably be easily solved by simply exiting the game's camera mode. If not, they can just restart their Switch. The Nintendo title has only been out in the market for a couple of weeks, and the devs have a lot of time to remedy the rampant bugs and issues the community has been experiencing. Hopefully they can resolve these glitches in future updates to the title.
