Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have revealed details for two upcoming Tera Raid events featuring Tyranitar and Salamence. Throughout the duration of the event, players will be able to obtain these two powerful pseudo-legendaries in a variety of Tera-types in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and may also find them with their Hidden Abilities.

Tera Raids are an important source of multiplayer action within Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, allowing players to team up with three others and take on difficult bosses in the pursuit of rare rewards and Pokemon with particular Tera-types. Following the success of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Charizard Tera Raid event, two further events have now been announced.

According to Serebii, the next Tera Raid will give Pokemon Scarlet players the chance to catch Tyranitar, while those on Violet will face Salamence. From December 8, 4pm PST to December 11 at 6pm PST, specific event raids will pop up around Paldea featuring four and five-star Tyranitar (Scarlet) and Salamence (Violet). Though these two Pokemon, which are some of the strongest pseudo legendaries in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, can actually already be obtained as version exclusives in their respective games, the Tera Raid event will allow players to obtain special variants with rare Tera-types. 3-star raids and above also give all Pokemon a chance to have their Hidden Ability, meaning players could stumble across a Tyranitar with Unnerve or a Salamence with Moxie. Players will be alerted to Tyranitar's Unnerve as soon as a raid begins, and will know that a Salamence has Moxie if they're not alerted to its regular ability, Intimidate.

In order for the event's minimum of four-star raids to appear, players must have collected at least seven gym badges, with the completion of three stories being required for five-star encounters. It is also worth noting that only ten event crystals can spawn in a single day, so players who intend to grind this event for rewards should try to join online lobbies upon reaching this maximum threshold. While the Charizard Tera Raid event was difficult to some, requiring a degree of teamwork and boasting a seven-star boss, this event should be closer in difficulty to that of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Eevee Tera Raid event and thus shouldn't pose a challenge for players who have completed the game's main story.

With the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Sandwich Distribution event having left many players feeling frustrated due to its lackluster rewards, it is nice to see another event being hosted so quickly that gives players the chance to obtain historically strong Pokemon with flexible Tera-types and Hidden Abilities.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are available now for the Nintendo Switch.
