The popularity of the Pokemon franchise means that there's always a new game in the series in the works in some capacity, though many were still surprised to see Nintendo announce Pokemon Scarlet and Violet so soon after releasing Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been mostly quiet since the initial reveal trailer dropped, but now a fresh trailer has been released that reveals a ton of exciting new details about the games, including their release date.

As revealed at the end of the latest Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer, the games will be available on Friday, November 18, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. The trailer also gave fans a look at some of the Pokemon that will be featured in the game, including the two legendary Pokemon that will be featured on the cover art: Koraidon and Miraidon, with the former exclusive to Pokemon Scarlet and the latter exclusive to Pokemon Violet.

It was heavily hinted by leakers that the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet legendaries would be dragons, and that appears to have been accurate. They both have wheel shapes sticking out of their chests, but what's especially interesting about Miraidon is the jet engine it has instead of legs. Overall, Miraidon has more of a mechanical look, whereas Koraidon appears to be a more organic, traditional-looking dragon.

Besides confirming the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release date, the trailer also introduced fans to the two new professors they will be interacting with during their journey. This time around, the Pokemon professors are Professor Sada and Professor Turo. Another NPC players will interact with in the games, Nemona, was also shown during the trailer. She appears to be taking on the role of the rival in the games.

The trailer didn't just reveal the release date and some of the new characters players will interact with during their Pokemon Scarlet and Violet adventures. It also confirmed that the games will support 4-player co-op. Combined with the fact that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are open world games, they are shaping up to be two of the most ambitious entries in the series to date.

And finally, the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer confirmed three new Pokemon for fans to add to their collection. This includes Electric-type Pokemon Pawmi, Normal-type Pokemon Lechonk, and Grass-type Pokemon Smoliv. Fans can expect more Pokemon reveals and other announcements between now and the games' release date later this year.
