Eager Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans are able to go ahead and begin pre-installing their pre-ordered versions of choice right now on Nintendo Switch. With the launch of the next mainline Pokemon titles still being a full week away, Game Freak seems to be giving players a very early start on ensuring that their copies of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be ready to go on November 18th.

Hype for the imminent release of the next generation of Pokemon games has been higher than ever throughout the past few weeks, with multiple new official trailers, new Pokemon reveals, and a surge of leaked content getting fans pumped to begin their journeys across the Paldea region. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have been dominating social media more and more as the release date approaches, with the games frequently trending on Twitter and fans on Reddit sharing a plethora of art projects to commemorate the new games and say goodbye to the previous generation, Pokemon Sword and Shield.

The announcement of Scarlet and Violet's pre-load period already getting started was first reported earlier today by Serebii, and informs players that the day-one 1.0.1 patch for Scarlet and Violet is also readily available for download. This wide window of pre-download availability gives players an entire week to make sure their game is prepared and all set to launch without hindrance on November 18th. According to the official Pokemon website, each game will require 7 GB of storage to install, meaning that fans that have secured both versions will need a total of 14 GB available to install them both.

On top of that, an additional 1 GB of space will be required for each game's day-one patch, meaning that players will want to ensure that they've got some extra space cleared out on their Nintendo Switches. This day one patch was announced earlier in the week by Game Freak, and clarified that players will need to download it and ensure that their games are on the latest version if they want access to Scarlet and Violet's online features.

Though some of Scarlet and Violet's recently-leaked Pokemon evolutions have spurred mixed reactions from the community, fans seem to be in high spirits as they eagerly await the launch of the Generation 9 titles next week. Following the reveal of a mysterious new Pokemon called Gimmighoul and the premiere of the games' final pre-release trailer just a few days ago, fans have still got a good deal of unanswered questions to mull over and a massive amount of new content to look forward to with the launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet next week.
