A fan of the new designs in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has recreated the entire evolution chain of the Nacli Pokemon in a pixelated art style. Fans looking forward to a Pokemon Black and White remake or who miss the art style from that era of the series, will be especially pleased to see how these creatures have been newly imagined.

This certainly isn't the first piece of fan art to come from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet since the games released, nor is it the first artwork to focus on Nacli and its evolutions. However, the unique approach that this particular artist has taken shows both a level of creativity and a clear appreciation for the Pokemon series as a whole.

The short clip, originally shared to the Pokemon subreddit by user R3dd1_D4v1d, shows the male player from Pokemon Black and White facing off against a group of Nacli and its evolutions, Naclstack and Garganacl. While the clip animates these designs, it has a similar visual to the earlier GBA and Nintendo DS era of Pokemon games, where the movements accounted to little more than having the sprites shake around onscreen. It is still interesting to see what these modern Pokemon designs might look like through the perspective of the older games built to run on more primitive consoles.

This trio from the Nacli evolution line have become a fan favorite from Scarlet and Violet, as their unique design has fans claiming that they appear to have been transported straight out of Minecraft. So it isn't much of a surprise to see that some artists have decided to recreate these Pokemon in their own styles or the styles of older games. As a result, the short clip has managed to gather some attention online, especially from fans curious to see how some of these modern titles might have looked with the classic pixelated art direction.

While many players continue to complain about the performance issues in Scarlet and Violet, it seems as though the Pokemon designs themselves from this latest generation go a long way to keeping some fans happy. With the fan art community around the new games continuing to thrive, it appears that the artwork and character designs of the latest Pokemon title are still hitting the mark. That being said, the performance issues make enjoying new Pokemon like Nacli and its evolutions difficult for some players, as the game struggles to run properly at all times on the Switch.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is available now for Switch.
