The popularity of Pokemon continues to grow, and creatures like Pikachu are a household name. Some of those little critters are so darn huggable that fans often imagine what Pokemon would look like in the real world. One artist stopped imagining and began creating his own realistic Pokemon, some of whic  fit in quite nice with our current fauna, while others are better left in video games.

London-based artist Joshua Dunlop has begun a Pokemon Zoology Series, where he regularly adds new artwork of realistic-looking Pokemon and then shares his pieces on social media. He's built up quite a collection and it continues to grow.

How do Pokemon look in the real world? Creatures like Eevee and Pikachu are expectedly adorable, but others like Bulbasaur and Charmander aren't nearly as cuddly as they appear in games. All in all it's an impressive gallery and he has some real talent. Fans of Joshua's work can support him through Patreon, where he regularly adds new pieces.

In the world of video games, the Halloween event continues in Pokemon GO, where players have a chance to capture a variety of ghost types recently added to the game. The event also marks the first inclusion of Generation 3 Pokemon, which are part of this spooky set roaming the game at night. Those aiming at catching a creepy critter for their own should know take note of which Ghost Types will evolve when Generation 4 is released.

The launch of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon is less than a month away and there is a lot of incentive to check it out – even for those who played the originals. There are gobs of new features, including new costumes, new Pokemon, and the ability to leave the Alola region and explore exciting new locales. Nintendo recently announced that these games would be the last of the main Pokemon series to release for the 3DS.
