Pokemon fans have eagerly been awaiting an announcement for the next Pokemon games on Switch, which were recently confirmed to be Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee. While that news is sufficient enough to excite any longstanding fans of the role-playing franchise, another new game was also revealed - Pokemon Quest, which appears to be designed for trainers of all ages.

Pokemon Quest was revealed during a press conference in Tokyo and in a series of tweets by the official Pokemon Twitter account, and the game focuses on the core mechanics, albeit in a slightly different manner, as previous Pokemon installments. It revolves around battling wild Pokemon, gathering treasure, and befriending new Pokemon, but Pokemon Quest does give the old formula a new twist.

Taking place on the mysterious Tumblecube island, the game features all of the original Kanto Pokemon but with a new boxy appearance. It was previously rumored that Pokemon on the Switch would focus on Kanto Pokemon, which appears to be true as well. Check out the series of reveal tweets for Pokemon Quest right here:

Pokemon Quest is available now for the Nintendo Switch and set to launch on mobile devices in June. Pokemon Quest is a free-to-start game, so players can at least see what it has to offer before spending any cash on it.

While Pokemon Quest may be overshadowed by Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu, Let's Go Eevee, the core RPG set to release in June 2019, and Pokemon GO, it may prove to be a great intro for younger Pokemon fans. Check out the official trailer here:

Needless to say, redesigning Pokemon with this cube-like art style in an interesting choice, but hopefully, it brings more lifelong fans into the Pokemon franchise. Stay tuned for more about Pokemon Let's GO PikachuLet's Go Eevee, and Pokemon Quest as more is announced.
