Pokemon fans have plenty to be hyped about right now, especially with Pokemon: Detective Pikachu's theatrical release just around the corner. Now, two new Pokemon plush toys from the long-running game series are being released at Build-a-Bear Workshop, joining an existing lineup of Pokemon favorites.

Build-a-Bear Workshop has unveiled two new Pokemon plush toys: Psyduck and Snubbull. The two base plush toys are sold separately, starting at $32 each. Of course, it wouldn't be Build-a-Bear without the option for customizations, and both characters have a good amount of optional accessories to add on.

Psyduck can be picked up along with a Psyduck Raincoat, Luxury Ball Hoodie, Build-a-Bear TCG Psyduck card, and a 6-in-1 sound effects chip for a total cost of $65. Snubbull, on the other hand, can be bundled with a Snubbull Vest, a pair of Snubbull bows, TCG Snubbull card, and the 6-in-1 sound effects chip for a slightly lower cost of $55, probably due to the less elaborate nature of Snubbull's accessories.

It's likely no mistake that these two have been selected for the latest Build-a-Bear Pokemon collaboration, nor that they're releasing now of all times. Psyduck and Snubbull both have significant roles in the Detective Pikachu film that is releasing in early May. Psyduck has been repeatedly shown tagging along on Detective Pikachu's adventure with his own partner, the investigative Lucy Stevens, while Snubbull's Detective Pikachu appearances seem to indicate that it's filling the role of a police dog working alongside Ken Watanabe's character, Lieutenant Hide Yoshida.

Pokemon and Build-a-Bear Workshop have collaborated many times in the past, and have been gradually bringing classic Pokemon starters and other popular favorites to the mix. Pikachu premiered at Build-a-Bear back in 2016, and many more have been introduced since, including Charmander, Meowth, Squirtle, as well as a number of accessories suitable for all of the characters.

Although Pokemon merchandise is released on a regular basis all over the world, it's a particularly fun time to be a fan. Burger King is collaborating with Detective Pikachu to release Pokemon toys for the first time in many years, and other unusual promos, like the Mr. Mime Mystery Slurpee machines have also been making an appearance prior to the movie's release. While it remains to be seen how Detective Pikachu will perform at the box office, Pokemon fans have proven many times over that they love the original series, so these toys are likely to do well, and could potentially sell out.
