When it comes to Generation 1 Pokemon, Psyduck may actually be one of the most well-known. Besides the fact that Psyduck has been in every main series Pokemon game and has featured prominently in some spin-off titles, Psyduck also had a major role in the Pokemon anime, appearing in numerous episodes of the show as one of Misty's Pokemon. There are plenty of Psyduck fans out there as a result, and one has now given the Water-type Pokemon not one, not two, but 18 new looks.

Reddit user DumbShoes has redesigned Psyduck to fit every Pokemon type that is currently available. Their designs are rather creative, with the Bug-type Psyduck transforming into a bee, the Dark-type looking like a witch, and the Flying-type Psyduck equipped with a jetpack. The Ghost-type Psyduck has the flesh falling off its bones, while the Normal-type Psyduck looks like an actual duck. In an especially clever twist, the Poison-type Psyduck is made to look like a duck-billed platypus, which is known to be one of the few venomous mammals on Earth.

The inclusion of a Psychic-type Psyduck in the picture may remind some fans that despite its name and ability to use some Psychic-type moves, Psyduck is not a Psychic-type Pokemon at all. This is often brought up as an example of a missed Pokemon type opportunity, especially since Psyduck's evolved form, Golduck, remains a pure Water-type as well.

Psyduck made an appearance in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which launched earlier this year to mostly positive reviews, and it will be featured in the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as well. Psyduck is just one of many returning Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and since we know the games won't have a National Pokedex, it will be interesting to see just how many Generation 1 Pokemon make the cut when it's all said and done.

In the months ahead, fans can expect Nintendo to reveal more returning Pokemon for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet through trailers and other promotional material. Right now, the Pokemon social media accounts are busy teasing the introduction of a new Pokemon called Grafaiai, which has something to do with rainbow paint, but otherwise very little is known about the creature. Fans can expect to Grafaiai's full reveal to come relatively soon, and if it comes in the form of a new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer, perhaps they will get answers about more returning Generation 1 Pokemon as well.
