This means that while Psychic types are one of the oldest types in the history of the series, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the type and the many different Pokémon that are a part of it. There are a lot of unanswered questions about Psychic types and fans need to find out the truth!

10 Where Do Alakazam's Spoons Come From

One of the most iconic Pokémon among the psychic types is Abra, Kadabra and Alakazam. Aside from being one of the original 151 Pokémon we were introduced to in the very first generation, he is also one of the first psychic types players can ever encounter. These Pokémon are also the ones that set our expectations for the type but one big question remains. It seems that in the games after Abra evolves into Kadabra and Kadabra evolves into Alakazam, they just gain a spoon, it's known that these spoons increase their power somehow, but where do they come from?

9 Why Is Hypno So Creepy

Another psychic-type Pokémon that is among the original 151, Hypno is slightly less fondly remembered due to his unsettling Pokédex entries. Most of Hypno's Pokédex entries range from suspect to downright terrifying, not made any less unsettling by it being one of the more human-looking Pokémon out there. Hypnos regularly hypnotize people and eat their dreams, and if someone is having a good dream they sometimes just take them away and they have even done this to children, but why? They are also known for polishing their pendulum when waiting for people to fall asleep,

8 Why Is Alola Raichu Psychic?

The Alola region of the Pokémon Sun and Moon titles gave us a lot of new variants on some of our old favorite Pokémon. Based on Hawaii and its culture, the Alola region variants of Pokémon have an island vibe to them, so it makes sense why Alola Raichu would look somewhat more tan than its standard counterpart, as well as have a wider tail that it would use as a surfboard. The question that some fans have is why is the Alola variant of Raichu an Electric/Psychic-type when nothing indicates that it would have Psychic powers.

7 How Metagross' Are Made

Shiny Metagross

Metagrosses are well known for being some of the smartest Pokémon out of all of the different types of Pokémon in the world. The brains of Metagrosses are frequently compared to supercomputers multiple times in both the games and the show, stating that they can make insane calculations at blazing fast speed.

This might have to do with the way that Metagrosses are made, in the Pokédex it is stated that two Beldum come together to make a Metang and then two Metang come together to form a Metagross, pointing to Metagross having for brains. Does this mean that Metagrosses aren't evolved?

6 Is Inkay Trying To Manipulate Us?

Before Malamars reach their final form, they start as Inkays but when there evolve they appear much more menacing. Inkay and Malamar are Dark/Psychic type which might point to them having a dark side that most Pokémon seemingly don't have, the thing is Inkay seems to be just as cute as any other Pokémon . Though it seems that Inkay's adorable exterior is hiding very dark intentions, as when they evolve they seemingly drop the mask of niceness that they had. Inkay also has the infiltrator ability which might be a clue.

5 Are Slowpokes & Slowbros Omniscient?

Slowking is well known for being an intelligent Pokémon but the same is not said very often when it comes to the other Pokémon in its evolutionary line. However, fans do theorize that both Slowpoke and Slowbro have intelligence beyond their and our understanding.

This intelligence is so vast that they are unable to comprehend it and thus constantly look spaced out and wide-eyed. Fans point to a Pokédex entry about Slowbro that states when the Shellder bites its tail, it becomes inspired, as evidence.

4 Are Unown Aliens?

Unown have been a big mystery in the world of Pokémon ever since they were introduced in Generation II. As of Generation III, there are 28 different variants of Unown, it's fairly well known that Unown are, in terms of their design, based on the Latin alphabet and the exclamation point and question mark. What's less known about Unown are what they are and where they came from. Many fans point to them being from outer space and that they might have even been in existence at the same time or even before Arceus was created.

3 Are Baltoy & Claydol Manmade?

Baltoy and Claydol are, as the name suggests, based on toys, more specifically they are seemingly based on mysterious statues that were found to be from prehistoric Japan during the Jomon period. It is said that Baltoy and Claydol were first discovered in ancient ruins with designs on the wall depicting the two Pokémon spinning and dancing. It is said in a few of their Pokédex entries that Claydol and Baltoy might be manmade, created by ancient people using psychic powers to breathe life into inanimate jars.

2 Jynx's Original Design

Jynx, being one of the original 151 Pokémon, has been around for a very long time and was part of one of the first controversies that the Pokémon franchise has ever had. It was due to Jynx's original design, which was called out for looking like it was a racist character of African Americans, similar to Mr. Popo in Dragon Ball Z. The design was seemingly based on counter-culture fashion in Japan but the timeline of that and Jynx's creation doesn't match up, so where does Jynx's original design get inspiration from.

1 Lunatone & Solrock Are From Space?

While hardly the first Pokémon to be cosmic in origin, Lunatone and Solrock are the most obvious representations of that theme. Considering how these two Pokémon are literally in the form of the sun and the moon, it's not surprising that fans believe that these two Pokémon origins lie somewhere beyond the stars. Fans theorize that these two Pokémon each come from the place that they take physical inspiration from, the sun and the moon specifically. Fans point to Pokédex entries hinting at this for proof.
