It has been a few months since The Pokemon Company revealed the titles for its next mainline Pokemon games. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were first revealed back in February, followed by the release date reveal in June, leaving Pokemon fans to create concepts and theories for new things that will come from this new, Spain-inspired region. The Pokemon Company will reveal more official details soon and has announced a Pokemon Presents event later this week.

The Pokemon Company announced on its Twitter page that there will be a Pokemon Presents livestream happening later this week that will provide updates for its current Pokemon apps and video games and will be capped off by new information about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The Pokemon Company did not say how long the August 3rd live stream will be, but these streams usually last about 20-30 minutes. As usual, this stream will be early in the morning for fans in the Western Hemisphere, starting at 9 AM EST.

It can be expected that new Pokemon including the evolved forms of the Generation 9 starters, and new Pokemon and regional forms of existing Pokemon could debut here. The Pokemon Company may also share new details for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet gym leaders and whatever new gameplay gimmick the new games will have. A further explanation for each version's proofessor and legendary Pokemon and other story elements may also be revealed.

The tweet does not detail what other games will be receiving additional news but these Pokemon Presents streams usually feature more than just news around the next entries in the main series games. Titles like Pokemon GO, Pokemon Unite, updates to the Pokemon Trading Card game, merchandise, along with other mobile properties could all feature in some way during this stream. It has been rumored that Pokemon Legends: Arceus could get new content or DLCs that could also be revealed during this event, but that remains to be seen.

Fans have been excited for more news about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet since the last announcement revealed the release date for later this year. Speculation has been rampant, as with most main series Pokemon releases, with possible leaks and details steadily streaming out from forums and comment threads consistently. Some have a sliver of believability, other presumed Pokemon leaks have been flat-out proven false as the fan base lets its imagination for the next colorful region run wild.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will release on the Switch on November 18th.
