When it comes to fan art, the possibilities are endless. While some are content with producing digital art pieces or sculptures of their favorite characters in media, others choose to express their love in a unique form. This interest in creative art can be notably observed in Pokemon fans, who have crafted multiple different types of creations inspired by the Pokemon franchise.

The Pokemon fan base has produced more standard art pieces but hasn't stopped there. A stained-glass art of Spheal and LEGO statues of the Kanto starter Pokemon are simply some pieces of artwork that embodies the creativity of fan produced content. One fan in particular uses a unique type of medium to craft a portrait of a popular Pokemon.

A user on Reddit by the name of pennyroyal creates a portrait of series' mascot Pikachu, made entirely out of the cards from the Pokemon Trading Card Game. This art piece replicates the electric mouse's appearance when in its sprite based form from the classic Pokemon games.

While fan-artwork designed around Pikachu is nothing new with a different artist creating a Pocket Pikachu themed cookie. The choice to use Pokemon cards to showcase the Pokemon is a fairly inspired one. Pennyroyal's dedication to this piece is on full display as the portrait itself is made up from over two hundred Pokemon cards, each being meticulously placed to form the black boarder of the body, the eyes tail, and red cheek pouches.

The innovation and simplicity in this art piece may be something Pokemon fans will appreciate. Most people who have any history with the Pokemon franchise have owned a set of cards so, a piece like this could be produced by anybody with enough dedication to see the project through to the end. This simplicity could also be why Pokemon statues made of LEGO pieces have become a popular trend as many children owned LEGO pieces as well.

A franchise as popular as Pokemon has gained many types of fans over the course of its long history, each with unique views and creative choices. Some have designed artwork depicting their interpretation of evolutions for new Pokemon, while others create fan animations showcasing a Pokemon they enjoy simply being charming. As the franchise continues to grow and evolve with the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet approaching soon, many new fans will fall in love with this series and begin to create their own fan art.
