Mudkip was part of the third generation of Pokemon which was originally released way back in 2002, but Pokemon fans continue to discover new things about the Water-type Pokemon.

A Pokemon fan who's known on Reddit as Snoochie_Bootchies recently posted a meme featuring characters from South Park and both the regular and shiny versions of Mudkip. The traditional Mudkip Pokemon is two shades of blue with some orange features, while the shiny Mudkip is Pink instead of blue, with a beige replacing the other shade of blue and sharing the same orange features as the other.

Redditor Snoochie_Bootchies presents that this color scheme is similar to a contrast between two popular South Park characters. The South Park characters that Snoochie_Bootchies is reminded of when looking at both versions of Pokemon's Mudkip are Terrance and Phillip. Terrance and Phillip have been prominently featured throughout South Park's 23-year run. The two Canadian characters were most notably a large part of the South Park Movie plot.

While the color schemes of Terrance and Phillip and both versions of Mudkip are very similar, the true details are in the face. Just like the Canadian South Park characters, Mudkip has a mouth that extends across its entire face. Canadians in South Park all share this feature, but in Pokemon, it's something that's limited to Mudkip and a handful of others.

Snoochie_Bootchies' Reddit post included a mash-up of Pokemon and South Park overlapping the "change my mind" meme popularized by Steven Crowder. With Terrance and Phillip sitting side-by-side with both versions of Mudkip, many Reddit users have a hard time denying the similarities between the pink and blue Pokemon and the red and blue Canadians. Multiple Reddit users claimed that after seeing Snoochie_Bootchies' post, they will never see Mudkip in the same light as they did before.

According to Snoochie_Bootchies, Mudkip most closely resembles Terrance and Phillip because of its floppy face. In South Park, these faces disconnected repeatedly to resemble speech, while Mudkip simply opens its wide mouth. The Redditor went on to admit that Mudkip more closely resembles a baby Canadian because of its size, but Terrance and Phillip were a clear South Park duo that looked close enough.

The Pokemon community of Reddit seemingly includes several South Park fans as well. This is made noticeable due to several Reddit users commenting their celebrations of Mudkip due to Snoochie_Bootchies' comparison. Many others referenced an ongoing South Park joke about the Canadians where they call each other guy, friend, buddy, and Pal.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl release exclusively for Nintendo Switch on November 19.
