DeNA's mobile game Pokemon Masters has a similar conceit to other Nintendo gacha games like Fire Emblem Heroes in that it purportedly acts as a 'celebration' of the franchise, gathering together characters from each entry. However, even though all manner of Legendary Pokemon and holiday-themed trainers appear in Pokemon Masters, it has yet to feature any member of cast from the most recent mainline titles Sword and Shield.

Despite Pokemon Masters releasing in August 2019, a few months before Pokemon Sword and Shield dropped on Switch, seemingly no effort was made to use the mobile title as a crossover promotion outside a few lines of dialogue. There has been similar silence around the release of Sword and Shield's two DLC expansions, The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra. That is, until a tweet was posted yesterday promising a Galar Sync Pair "will make their long-awaited debut."

No concrete details have been provided as to which character this might be, or when they will arrive. However, a video included with Pokemon Masters' tweet includes footage outside of Postwick, Galar's starting town, and the Slumbering Weald, which has some fans in the comments believing that Gloria and Zacian may be the new Sync Pair based on prior leaks.

That being said, Pokemon Masters promises this character will be available through a gacha-based "scout," while Legendary Pokemon have traditionally been reserved for special events. For now, fans will just have to wait and see who the mobile game is adding next. In the meantime, a new story chapter was added today headlined by Sygna Suit Cynthia and her Kommo-o, a pairing previously introduced during Pokemon Masters' first anniversary Cyrus and Palkia event.

Pokemon Masters EX is available now for Android and iOS devices.
