Although Pokemon Let's Go is essentially a remake of Pokemon Yellow, it differs in numerous ways. Whether its the addition of mega evolutions or the ability to transfer from Pokemon GO, this latest entry in the lovable Pokemon franchise is a standout entry. Another way the game differs from its Game Boy inspiration is the location of the powerful Dragon-type Pokemon Dratini.

In fact, Dratini, Dragonair, and Dragonite can all be found in the wild of Pokemon Let's Go, though many would likely consider it easier to find Dratini and evolve it alone. Alternatively, gamers could transfer their shiny Community Day Dragonite from Pokemon GO, but they should remember that it is a one way trip.

To begin with, it's worth noting for those familiar with where to find Dratini in previous installments that it will not be in those locations this time around. In Pokemon Let's Go, the Dragon-type can only be found on Route 10. Players will need to make sure their partner Pokemon knows the Sea Skim Secret Technique and surf east of Cerulean City until finding a patch of water that can't be traveled on without Sea Skim.

Pokemon Lets Go Flying Dragonite

Considering Dratini only has a 4% spawn rate, players will need to be prepared for a grind. It is possible to increase the chances by using one of the lures or getting a large Catch Combo on the number of Magikarp in the area. Furthermore, it's possible to find a wild Dragonair in the exact same location, but its spawn rate is only 1%, making it exponentially harder to find than Dratini.

To find a wild Dragonite, players need to take to the skies. Of course, this means players need to get access to the sky, as well as defeat the Elite Four. Players who manage to do so can find Dragonite in practically every sky area, but its spawn rate is incredibly low - much less than Dragonair.

As a result, many may choose to just find Dratini and evolve it. A quicker route, as aforementioned, would be to transfer the Pokemon from its mobile counterpart, but that means saying goodbye to a rare and powerful Pokemon in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! are available now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
