In Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, catching shiny Pokemon is easier than ever before, thanks to tricks and items players can use to make the especially rare creatures more likely to appear. However, even with these added tricks available, certain shiny Pokemon still require a significant time investment to find, with the shiny variant of the legendary Pokemon Mewtwo arguably being the most difficult to catch in the new games.
Twitch streamer FireDragon was on a quest to catch a shiny Mewtwo in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, but it sadly ended in disaster. Since Mewtwo only spawns at one specific area in the game, the only way to get a shiny one is by saving right before the encounter with him, and then closing out of the game if the shiny version doesn't appear. FireDragon did this so many times that it became a habit, and caused him to close out of the game without even realizing he just encountered a shiny Mewtwo.

FireDragon's failure to catch a shiny Mewtwo in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee is enough to make most players quit the game entirely, especially since the odds of encountering one has been estimated to be about in 1 in 4,000 without the shiny charm item. Considering the sheer time investment that it takes for many people to find shiny Mewtwo, losing it over a silly mistake like this has to hurt.
In fact, it took fellow Twitch streamer SUKnives about 30 hours to find a shiny Mewtwo in his attempt to catch the elusive creature. Unfortunately, SUKnives also failed to add it to his collection, but unlike FireDragon, it wasn't because he reset the game prematurely. On the contrary, SUKnives failed to catch Mewtwo because he ran out of Pokeballs, which is another silly mistake that could've been easily avoided.
Hopefully Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee players learn from the mistakes of SUKnives and FireDragon, and are extra careful in their attempts to catch a shiny Mewtwo in the games.
