Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee Will Reveal Brand New Pokemon

As a pre-E3 surprise, Nintendo recently revealed Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee to the world. Many details about the games have matched up with previous rumors, including the fact that they will be set in the Kanto region. And while the games will mostly consist of Kanto-region gen 1 Pokemon, it looks as though there will be at least one brand new Pokemon making its debut when the games release later this year.

According to Game Informer, players will obtain a "special" Pokemon in Pokemon GO by connecting Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee with the mobile game. This special Pokemon is completely brand new, and will be the first Pokemon to make its franchise debut in Pokemon GO instead of a core game.

Since the Pokemon GO integration in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee lets players transfer Pokemon, one has to imagine that the new creature will appear in the Switch titles as well as Pokemon GO, but that has yet to be confirmed. As we grow closer to the games' release in November, Nintendo may share more information on this new Pokemon and what it has in store for the franchise.

Of course, news on this new Pokemon could come sooner rather than later. Nintendo is planning on hosting an E3 2018 presentation on June 12, where it is expected to showcase Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee. More details about the games are sure to come during this event, so perhaps we'll get our first glimpse at this new Pokemon then.

Alternatively, the new Pokemon may be revealed during the Pokemon GO Fest activities in July. After all, this new Pokemon is going to be obtained in Pokemon GO when the games are connected, so it's arguably more relevant to Niantic's mobile game than Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee. The reveal of a brand new Pokemon essentially making its franchise debut in Pokemon GO seems like a big deal that would give Pokemon GO Fest even more attention, so if nothing is revealed at E3, fans should see what Niantic has to say in July.

Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee will launch on November 16, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
