One of the most appealing aspects of the original Pokemon Yellow game was the ability to catch all three of the original starter Pokemon from Red and Blue, including the popular fire-type starter Charmander. Since Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee are remakes of Yellow, it makes sense that all three original starters can be obtained yet again, with Charmander available to catch in the game fairly early on.

The easiest way to get Charmander in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee is by crossing the Nugget Bridge in Cerulean City. On the other side of the bridge is a trainer with a Charmander at their side. Speak with them, and they will reveal that they want to give Charmander to a "better trainer." For players to prove that they are a better trainer, they need to catch 50 Pokemon total, so once that's done, speak to the trainer again to get Charmander.

This isn't the only way to get Charmander in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, but it is the easiest. Alternatively, players can catch Charmander in the Rock Tunnel, which they will pass through on their way to Lavender Town. Charmander will appear as a random encounter in the Rock Tunnel, and while it's rare compared to other creatures that spawn there, it's still a possibility in either version of the game.

Luckily for Charmander fans, the fire-type starter appears in both Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, so it doesn't matter which version of the game they picked up. The same goes for the other two starter Pokemon, and in fact, there are only a handful of version-exclusive Pokemon between the two games.

Besides actual in-game methods of catching Charmander in Pokemon Let's Go, there is one other way as well. Players can transfer any Charmanders they caught in Pokemon GO to Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, though this feature is not available in the game at the start.

Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee are out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
